Buddy Reading is alive and well at Fox Run School!

On the first Friday of each month your child is partnered with another child for thirty minutes of reading excitement. Each class is matched to another class in another grade. The goal of the program is to provide the opportunity for children to enjoy stories with their peers. As they share stories the children practice reading skills and strategies. They are all successful as they have fun while learning. The  Buddy Reading dates are all Fridays: December 1st, January 5th February 2nd,  April 13th and May 4th.   Be sure to ask your child about it!

Did you know that you can become a literacy volunteer right here at Fox Run? All you need to do is to volunteer for as little as 30 minutes! There are so many things that you can help with just by giving a child a chance to read to you, or helping to make materials for students to use. I will provide the training that you may need. Please call me if you are interested in supporting Fox Run students. There will be a committee meeting of all volunteers in mid-December so that your support can begin after the first of January.

We can make a difference together!

Thanks,

G
